The U.S. has come to a screeching halt in a matter of three weeks. THREE weeks. Our calendars? Empty. Our time? Different. Our thoughts? Scared. Our future? Inspiring.
While the U.S. and global news reports continue to share information and stories of the health and economic crises, in many instances, some of us, myself included, are already looking ahead toward life after this crisis.
When this situation is staring at us from the rearview mirror, what does your life look like? In all aspects? Spiritually, personally, family life, business/career, and financially? The reality is our current isolation and togetherness will bring about reflection, new habits, and suppressed desires that could create a life very different from the one you had pre-Covid19...if you let it.
Oh - please let it.
The image deep in my mind that provides the greatest parallel to this pandemic is a wildfire. Wildfires occur every few years to burn up fuel, plant debris, and dead trees. This makes way for young, healthy trees and vegetation to thrive. Fires make room for new life that will help keep the forest healthy in the long term.
Covid19 IS the fire making room for new life. Allow yourself to grieve your losses and extend grace abundantly to those around you; they have their own grieving process to address. We ALL are reacting differently. Though make room in your heart for your new life. The steps to your new life have already been taken whether you realize it or not; whether you wanted it to happen or not.
“The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.” ~ Lao Tzu
It’s a start. Starting is what we need to do to gain momentum - and when you do, start looking forward to gaining speed! Though keep this in mind: we all must take care of our own household first - this means YOUR mind. YOUR body. YOUR spirit. You ARE the FIRST household. If you take care of yourself first, new life will bloom in ways you never imagined. Promise. You’ve got a great opportunity to gain so much momentum on the other side of this pandemic. Though to find that momentum you have to…
START. Just START.
